What are PRP Injections?
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is a cosmetic injectable treatment that uses the your own platelet rich plasma. By taking a sample a of your own blood, and extracting the plasma which contains stem cells and growth rich platelets, when injected back into your skin, it accelerates the body’s natural production of collagen and elastin to provide overall skin correction and restoration.
After creating Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) from your blood sample, the solution will be injected into your treated areas.
The idea is to increase the bioproteins or hormones in the treated area to accelerate process of healing, restoration, correction. What Is Platelet-Rich Plasma Exactly?
Platelet-rich plasma has two elements: plasma (the liquid portion of your blood) and platelets, blood cell in your body that plays an important role in healing. Platelets are especially known for their abilities to clot and they contain growth factors that can trigger cell reproduction and stimulate tissue restoration or healing in the treated areas of injection. Platelet-rich plasma is simply blood that contains more platelets than normal.
To create platelet-rich plasma needed to inject, a blood sample will be taken from you and placed into a device called a centrifuge.
This devise rapidly spins your blood sample, separating out the other components of the blood, not needed from the platelets and concentrating what is needed within the plasma.
